Car seats and boosters provide protection for infants and children in a crash, yet car crashes are a leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 13. That's why it's so important to choose and use the right car seat correctly every time your child is in the car. Please remember to follow all of the proper and important steps to choose the right seat, install it correctly and keep your child safe. The Boonton Township Police Department is pleased to offer free safety inspections of your child's car or booster seat. Officers whom are certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians are able to set up appointments with our residents for the purpose of inspecting car or booster seats for proper and safe installation. These inspections include installation supervision, proper sizing determinations, and consumer recalls. Our agency may even be able to assist you in the event you are unable to obtain the proper car seat for your child.
