On Wednesday 9/17/2025 paving is scheduled to begin on Split Rock Road. As a result, Split Rock Road will be closed to all thru-traffic between the hours of 7am and 5:30pm. A detour has been established through parts of Decker Lane, Lyonsville Road, Meriden Road and Farber Hill Road.

Residents who live on Split Rock Road and adjoining neighborhoods will have access to their homes but should expect significant traffic delays, as portions of the roadway will be largely impassable throughout the day. Paving is set to begin by 7am at the top of Split Rock Road near Decker Lane, and proceed downwards towards Rockaway Valley Road. Rockaway Valley School will be notifying parents directly if there are any adjustments to normal school bus procedures.
